Sector 9 Carbonite Longboard Review
The sector 9 carbonite is the newest carbon fiber longboard is the sector 9 platinum series of longboards. It is made from thin layers of maple, fiber-glass, and carbon fiber which give it a very strong and also flexible deck. The deck is very light weight which makes it an incredibly fast riding board. The carbonite is great for carving, down-hill, free ride, and even cruising. The design of this board is a top mounted drop through system which creates the low center of gravity that a rider needs at higher speeds which creates stability and will help prevent speed wobbles. A great feature that this board offers is the shape of the nose and tail which are very narrow which allows for a larger sized wheel which will create more speed and a smoother ride.
Longboards are a great means of transportation, especially for college students around campus and town. They help the environment out by reducing toxic emmissions in to our air. They are also so much easier to ride than a skateboard and just about anyone can learn to ride a longboard.
The sector 9 carbonite longboard should be set up with gullwing charger trucks for maximum speed and performance, or you can throw on some gullwing side winder trucks to make it a carvers dream. I would recommend a nice wide wheel like the 69mm sector 9 wheels, or retro zig-zags or big-zigs which will be smooth and create lots of friction against the surface to allow for hard carves as the flex in this board really creates a smooth, sharp turn. Some nice abec 7 bearings, or bones swiss fit the carbonite perfectly and I wouldn’t go with anything less on this board.
Longboards Go Green
Today it seems like people are always looking for greener and more renewable resources to utilize in their everyday lives. Recently I’ve seen bamboo employed in a variety of products, including clothing, flooring and furniture. I was surprised, however, when I was in my local skate shop and saw that they had a new line of bamboo decks.
They told me that bamboo longboards are ideal because the wood is incredibly strong while still being flexible. This means that the board is ultra-responsive when cornering, but will still hold up to abuse. Like most bamboo products, these boards offer a more renewable and environmentally friendly alternative to their traditional counterparts.
