Insane asylum OCD longboard review
The insane asylum OCD longboard is a great street carving, park carving, and cruising board. The OCD has a long wheelbase and a longer width than most carving boards, giving it the ability to have lots of stability and long, smooth turns. I recommend the OCD to any beginning or serious carver.
The OCD also comes with stock san clemente trucks, wheels, and some abec 5 bearings, but I really suggest just paying a few more dollars for something better because to be honest the stock wheels and trucks blow. If you’re getting new truck s for carving I definitely suggest the sidewinders, they have a super sharp turning and lots of response. If you’re going to get new wheels I suggest any of the sector nine wheels or any of the oragnutangs (as long as they’re in about a 70+ mm). We all know that no good longboard is good without a good set of bearings. If you’re looking to buy new bearings I would suggest getting reds or if you really want some goods bearings for a little extra money I suggest getting some sector nine ceramics.
insane asylum skitzo longboard review
The insane asylum skitzo longboard is great for downhill and cruising though I wouldn’t recommend for carving. The skitzo comes cut in such a way that it almost totally eliminates wheelbite. The skitzo also has a flush mount truck which gives you better stability at higher speeds and a lower center of gravity for more speed. I recommend the skitzo to any hardcore downhiller or any beginner.
The skitzo comes with stock trucks, wheels and bearings, but I recommend buying some the higher quality stuff, especially for downhill! For trucks I recommend bombers or chargers. For wheels I recommend any sector nines, orangutangs, or abec 11′s. As for bearings there’s only 2 real options, reds or sector nine ceramics, reds are cheaper but the ceramics perform better so it’s your choice.
Insane asylum psycho longboard review
The Insane asylum psycho longboard is great for carving, downhill, and cruising. The insane asylum psycho is cut in such a way that it’s hard to get wheel bite (considering you have the correct sized trucks). It’s smaller in width then most of the insane asylums, which makes it so you can get pretty technical when carving. I recommend the psycho to anyone who’s beginning or even an advanced carver, but I think insane asylum has much better downhill boards.
The insane asylum psycho comes with san clemente trucks and wheels but for a couple bucks more you can something that’s a lot better. If you plan to carve I recommend sidewinders, but if you plan to do downhill, bombers or chargers. For wheels I recommend any secotr nines, abec 11, or orangutangs. No good longboard is any good without good bearings too right? I recommend the bones reds, or the sector nine ceramics.
Insane Asylum maniac longboard
The Insane asylum maniac longboard is great for downhill, carving, and cruising. The insane asylum longboard has awesome nose cutaways to make wheelbite virtually impossible (unless it hits your foot). The insane asylum is pretty wide for great stability, and smooth turning. I recommend the maniac to anyone who loves extreme downhill speeds or smooth carving.
The maniac comes with our stock san clementes but for just a few dollars more you can get a really sick setup. If you’re doing downhill I recommend bombers or chargers but if you’re carving I recommend sector nine sidewinders. For wheels for both downhill and carving I recommend sector nines or orangutang wheels. No good longboard has cruddy bearings, I recommend the bones reds or if you really want to blow some minds the sector nine ceramics.
