insane asylum lunatic longboard
The insane asylum lunatic longboard is a great downhill board and cruiser though I wouldn’t recommend it for carving or anything else really. The Lunatic has special wheel cutouts for less possibility of wheelbite and a flush drop mount truck for increased stability at high speeds. The lunatic is super wide and long board for even better stability at high speeds. I recommend the lunatic for all downhill boarders.
The lunatic comes with San Clemente wheels, trucks, and abec 5 bearings. Since you’re probably going to be doing downhill if you buy this I recommend getting better accessories for your board since the stock San clementes blow. If you’re going to get trucks I recommend gullwing chargers or bombers since they provide the best stability for downhill boarding. If you’re going to get new wheels I suggest getting orangutangs, abec 11′s, or any of the sector nine wheels, try to get a big size in about a 70+ mm they’re great for downhill boarding because they prevent what I like to call the pavement factor. the higher the size (don’t get too carried away though) the less pavement you’ll be eating. Now, you can’t go rolling 40-50 m.p.h. down a hill without a good set of bearings! I recommend bones reds or sector nine ceramics.
Insane asylum ill figure longboard review
The Insane asylum ill figure longboard is great for cruising around and bombing hills, however if you’re looking to carve I would suggest looking for something else. Insane asylum is actually pretty new to the skateboarding industry but if you’re looking to do downhill look no further. Insane asylums boards are super wide and long with a flush drop mount for increased control at high speeds. The insane asylum boards are also cut so you don’t get wheelbite if you accidently turn too far.
The insane asylum boards come with San Clemente trucks, wheels, and abec 5 bearings. If you get this however bad trucks and wheels are not something you want if you’re going 45 miles an hour because chances are your wheels and or trucks are going to snap. For the insane asylums I recommend gullwing bombers, or chargers since they provide excellent stability at high speeds. For wheels I recommend orangutangs or any sector nine wheel, I don’t think insane asylum has come out with custom wheels yet but if they have check them out because they’re all about downhill. Just like bad trucks and wheels going downhill, you don’t want bad bearings that are going to freeze or burn up. I’ve never had bearings lock on me, but I have had explode out of their cases before and it’s not fun TRUST ME, I recommend reds or if you really want to get into to it I recommend sector nine ceramics.
