Spring into Shades!
Greetings from sunny Nor-Cal! Lately we have been lucky enough to have excellent winter shredding weather and so I decided to get out on the hill for the day. While we were hanging out enjoying the sunny weather and hiking the hill I had a great idea for today’s blog: Shades.
Eye protection from the sun has existed around the globe for thousands of years, however shades haven’t always been as stylish and protective as they are today.
Some of the earliest protective eyewear consisted of a narrow slit cut into a solid lens which functioned more to restrict the quantity of light reaching the eye than to restrict the intensity of it (like with modern sunglasses). The first tinted modern glass lenses were developed around 1752 by James Ayscough who was experimenting with tint colors in an attempt to correct certain visual impairments. Not until much later was the fashion appeal of sunglasses evident. In the early 1900s, shortly after the birth of film and cinema, movie stars wearing shades to prevent fans from recognizing them began to explode the popularity of the eye accessory. In 1936 Edwin H. Land began producing the first polarized lenses for glasses while experimenting with his patented Polaroid Filter. More recent developments for shades also include the use of advanced materials in the lenses, such as polycarbonate, to strengthen and reduce the weight of the lenses. It is always important to protect your health while out on your board. I mean, boarding for life sounds a lot more attractive than only boarding for a few years right? While our sport has a huge emphasis on safety due mainly to the higher speeds and increased danger of permanent injury, it is easy to forget when we suit up for riding that our eyes need protection too.
Beyond just protecting your eyes from UV rays, the right shades will increase your performance by reducing glare, meaning better visibility, and even making you look cooler as you shred down the hill. If you are looking for a great deal on that new pair of shades for this season then check out our Webstore’s fantastic selection of eyewear from manufacturers like Electric, Spy, and Von Zipper.Until the next post have fun shredding and keep the stoke!

Playing Pretend Never Gets Old
There are many types of spy gear that you can choose from, when you want to be a secret spy. Or at least pretend to be. Playing spy is a fun game regardless if you are a kid or an adult. Spy equipment is a lot of fun.
Spy sunglasses are the type of equipment that you can wear all the time. They look like regular sunglasses. It makes it easy to pretend you are a spy all the time. No one will even know that you are playing spy even though you have spy glasses on.
The Power of Spy Sunglasses
Have you ever wished that you could be a fly on the wall? Have you ever struggles to prove the factuality of something you knew was true, but lacked the supporting evidence to justify? We’ve all had our moments when life gets tough and people get ugly and the truth gets lost somewhere in between. Fortunately, there is a solution that might just make you feel like James Bond while you get the results you need.
Spy sunglasses are the key to all problems that stem from a lack of evidence. Made to look like normal sunglasses, spy sunglasses function like ordinary sunglasses; however, they also function like spyware. Real spy sunglasses contain a micro-sized camera within the lens that can record what the person sees through the lenses; however, these gadgets are quite expensive. So, until you can save up the dough to purchase this high-tech gizmo you might want to check out Spy Optics.
Arbor Koa Blunt Longboard
The Arbor Koa blunt longboard is a perfect all-around board it can cruise, do hills, and tear up the parks like no tomorrow. One great thing about the arbor koa blunt is that it’s extremely easy to ride because it’s so wide and is perfect for people who like do to longboard tricks such as manuals and board walking because of the kicktail/nose. Another reason the arbor koa is so great is because of the long wheelbase which makes for really wide smooth turns, much like surfing. I recommend the arbor koa blunt to anyone looking for an awesome arbor longboard.
The blunt comes with san clemente trucks and wheels but I recommend getting some of our premium trucks and wheels. I recommend getting some sidewinders if you plan on carving and cruising but if you plan on doing downhill at all I suggest getting some chargers/bombers. Also You’ll need a good set of bearings if you plan on doing bigger hills or want to get around faster the abec 5 bearings it comes with will suffice but I would suggest bones reds bearings because they’re the best for the price, or I would suggest sector nine ceramics if you really want to fly across the concrete if you can afford them.

Spy Womens Sunglasses
I have tried out a lot of brands of sunglasses and I have found that they are not all created equal. One brand that I found to be very well made are Spy sunglasses. Spy makes all of their sunglasses from the most high quality materials and they just seem a lot sturdier than other brands. With Spy I have never had a problem with loose hinges, and easily broken or scratched lenses. With most sunglass brands you pay $100.00 for a pair of sunglasses that will last you a week.
Spy womens sunglasses are not only well made, but they also have many great styles to choose from. Spy is always on trend and has some great classic styles as well. A few style’s from Spy I would reccommend are the Dynasty, Eliza, and the Clarice. Spy womens sunglasses range in price from $60-$170, but they are worth it because they last!

Spy Dynasty Womens Sunglasses
The Dynasty is one of the most popular women’s sunglasses for Spy. The Dynasty has a squared off lens with soft edges so it looks great on just about any face shape. The Dynasty comes in black, white, merlot, coconut creme fade, vintage tortoise, siberian tiger, and many other great colorways.
The best thing about the Dynasty is the way they fit. These glasses hug your face comfortably and stay put. The Dynasty has metal accents at the temples and a slim arm shape. What is so great about the Dynasty is it is very classy looking without being too upscale looking to wear for everyday. Also these glasses are pretty afordable considering they are made by Spy. The Spy Dynasty womens sunglasses are a great pick for anyone who likes class.

Spy Womens Sunglasses
Spy has so many styles to choose from, so what do you choose. In this post I will point out some of Spy’s styles that fit specific face shapes and preferences to help you decide what style is right for you. If you have a larger face I would highly reccomend The Eliza and the Richelle because they are just made to fit someone who has a larger face. Both the Eliza and the Richelle have a wider frame and won’t feel too snug on someone with a larger face.
If you have a really petite face you should try the Abbey or the Dynasty. The Abbey is great because is has a small frame, but on someone with a petite face they won’t look smaller that they should. What is so great about the Dynasty is that it has the “Big” sunglasses look without being too large for a smaller face. Now for those who are in between and have a medium face size I would say that the Zoe or the Clarice would be a gret fit for you. Whatever Spy womens sunglasses you choose you can be sure that they are well made and will last, so go find the pair that works for you!
Spy Eliza Sunglasses
The Eliza is my favorite sunglass style that spy makes. These glasses fall into the “oversized” category of sunglasses. They are big sunglasses, but look great on just about anybody. The Spy Eliza has an upscale look, great shaped arms and metal spy logo’s on the temples.
I would have to say that the Eliza has a little bit of a vintage look to it. These glasses come in white, black, brown marble, royal purple marble, and clear white. My favorite colorway in the Eliza is the brown marble. The Spy Eliza sunglasses retail for about $99.00, but some of the colors vary in price and are about $10.00 more. I reccomend these glasses for anyone who loves a vintage, classy pair of sunglasses that will last.

Spy Richelle Womens Sunglasses
Spy makes really great sunglasses, they are always well-made and great looking too. My favorite style is the Richelle. These glasses have lenses that start off square shaped and are more rounded near the inside. The arms of the Richelle have a really fluid shape and there is a spy logo on each temple.
The Richelle comes in black, white leopard, green/yellow, and purple. These glasses retail for $159.95 which is pretty pricey, but you can be sure they will last you. My favorite colorway is the black because they have gold colored metal detail’s at the temples which makes them very classy looking. The Spy Richelle womens sunglasses would be a great addition to anyone’s accessory wardrobe.
