Skaters and Residents Clash in Laguna Beach
Laguna Beach residents are battling it out with skateboarders in their community. Over 400 complaints and 11 reports of collisions have been reported in the last three years. Residents claim that the steep hills of Laguna Beach are too dangerous for speedboarding. The residents hope to ban speedboarding on many of the steep streets in their community.
On the flip side, speedboarders claim that such bans are unnecessary as serious speedboarders already take many safety precautions. They claim to have full control over their skateboards and can stop them faster than a cyclist can brake on their bicycles. Many speedboarders apparently support cracking down on skaters who don’t wear helmets and other protective gear. An outright ban is being resisted as there is not an alternative place for speedboarders to skate.

Sector 9 Super Shaka longboard review
The Sector 9 Super shaka longboard is the perfect downhill/cruising board for any expereience range. The super shaka is cut specifically so that you don’t have to worry about wheelbite unless your foot is hanging over the side and scraping your shoe. Another really great thing about the super shaka is the long wheelbase, it’s as long as ANY longboard will ever get, this will give you the maximum stability you can get as well as the cleanest feeling you could possibly get from this type of longboard. I recommend the Super Shaka to anyone that takes long commutes or is really into doing downhill.
The Super shaka is perfect with san clemente trucks and wheels however the deck itself isn’t making it our most popular board. For wheels I definitely recommend sector 9′s or orangatang. For trucks I recommend getting gullwing chargers, or bombers. The Super shaka also comes with abec 5 bearings that would be much better replaced with some bones reds or if you have the money some sector 9 ceramics, they’re definitely worth it.
Gravity 39″ carved stained glass longboard
The stained glass from gravity longboards is a really amazing carver/cruiser and introduces a unique shape albeit just cool and functions just as well as other gravities, just looks cooler. The stained glass has a really long wheelbase which makes turning in and out of the bowl in parks a breeze. The stained glass also has a kicktail for longboard tricks for those who do them as well as give that extra bit of comfort and stability while on long rides or in the park. I recommend the stained glass to anyone looking for a longboard that will hold against the test of time and someone who wants a board that can do it all.
The stained glass comes with san clemente trucks and wheels but I highly recommend buying some quality trucks and wheels. for trucks I recommend getting some sidewinders ( for carving/crusing) or chargers (for cruising, mild downhill, or if you’re just beginning). But For wheels I recommend sector 9′s, abec 11′s or orangutangs or any wheel in a 60mm or higher for that matter. The stained glass also comes with abec 5 bearings but I highly recommend getting some reds, they’re only 10$ more and they’re the best you can get for the price unless of course you really want to rip through the streets then i suggest getting some ceramics of any kind I especially like sector 9′s.
Loaded Ceviche longboard
The loaded ceviche longboard is an excellent cruiser/carver/downhill board. The Ceviche has multiple wheelbases and lets you customize the board so you can have a short or long wheelbase, you’d want a longer wheelbase for downhill/smoother riding, or a shorter wheelbase for carving/more intense riding. The Ceviche also has a mild nose/ tail to help change up your style, you would want to stay on the tail if you’re looking for a more aggressive style nad stay in the middle for a more relaxed style. I recommend the ceviche to anyone due to it’s versatility.
The loaded Ceviche is perfect with san clemente trucks and wheels however there so much other quality equipment to choose from. For wheels I definitely recommend sector 9′s or orangatangs (if you have the money of course) or even abec 11′s (these are my favorite of the bunch). For trucks I recommend getting sidewinders if you’re JUST going to cruise and carve, however if you bombing hills I suggest getting randal 150′s, gullwing chargers, or bombers. The Ceviche also comes with abec 5 bearings that would be much better replaced with some bones reds or if you have the money some sector 9 ceramics.
Gold Coast Heavy Pile longboard
The gold coast heavy pile is another great cruiser from gold coast longboards and can do some carving too but I only recommend this board for carving if you’re a beginner-intermediate rider. Gold coast implemented a really cool idea on this board and it’s the Carpet grip tape, I imagine they made it this way so that you can ride it barefoot comfortably, and even if they didn’t make it for that purpose, I’ve given this board a ride and it is indeed comfortable barefoot. The Heavy pile also has a dencently short wheelbase for its size which will make for sharper, quicker turns but with the size and weight of the board it’s still a really fluid, easy-to-ride-board. I recommend the heavy pile to anyone looking for a little spice to their longboard collection or someone who just wants a really comfortable cruiser.
The heavy pile comes with san clemente trucks and wheels but if you plan on cruising further than work/ to the store and back everyday then I recommend getting some of our premium trucks and wheels. For trucks I recommend getting some sidewinders, these trucks really complement cruisers because they make it much easier to turn as well as more responsive so you don’t have to turn as hard. For wheels I recommend getting some sector 9′s or orangatangs in about a 70-75mm. This board also comes with abec 5 bearings but if you want the best product for the price I reacommend getting a hold of some reds or sector 9 ceramics if you have the money.
Sector 9 OG cloud review
The OG cloud from sector 9 longboards is perfect for cruising around town and carving the bowls and trannies at the park. The cloud has a really wide wheelbase making for extremely long and smooth turns you could only otherwise get while surfing. The cloud has wheel cutouts that help prevent wheelbite from happening which can really get you hurt if you’re going fast enough + this helps keeps your wheels from flat-spotting against the board. I recommend the OG cloud to anyone looking for an awesome carver/cruiser.
The Sector nine OG cloud goes perfect with san clemente trucks and wheels however there are many other suitable choices to enhance this beastly cruiser. For wheels I definitely recommend sector 9′s or orangatangs (if you have the money of course). For trucks I recommend getting sidewinders they’re the only real choice for this board in my opinion. The cloud also comes with abec 5 bearings that would be much better replaced with some bones reds or if you have the money some sector 9 ceramics.
